Creating a task list is an important step in increasing productivity as it allows individuals to prioritise their tasks, plan their time effectively, and stay on track throughout the day. By listing out the tasks that need to be completed, you can focus on one task at a time and avoid feeling overwhelmed by a large number of responsibilities. Additionally, crossing off completed tasks provides a sense of accomplishment and motivation to continue working.
The Task List feature in VirtualSpace is a powerful tool that enhances productivity by allowing users to easily view and manage tasks. The Task List presents all of the tasks in an organised, easy-to-read format, making it simple to prioritise and focus on the most important tasks.
Additionally, the ability to categorise and filter tasks by project or due date allows for even greater organisation and time management. Using the Task List feature in VirtualSpace can help you stay on top of your responsibilities and increase your productivity.
The image above shows the Task List feature page on VirtualSpace. We can see several functions that serve various purposes.
Create New Project: This button at the top left corner is to create your new project, you can name your project, upload a picture to your project, and add team members to your project.
My Project: This is the place where you can see all projects that were created by you.
Notification: There you can view and see all the notifications when your team members made changes to the projects, any projects completed, etc.
General: All projects that you're involved in. They can be from your VirtualSpace channels.
Individual: All your individual or personal projects are in there.
Channel: All projects that are created in channels that you're in.
Add New: Click this button to add new sections or new tasks.
As we can see there are 4 features at the top right corner of the page. They are the search button, archived button, filter and sort buttons.
- You can search for any task with a keyword.
- You can put your task in an archive so whenever you need it you can refer back to it.
- Then you can filter your task according to the assignees, task priority, task's due date, and task status
- You can also sort your tasks by the date created (newest or oldest first) and task name.
After creating a new project, you can add tasks or sections by clicking the "Add New" button on your newly created project board. The sections function for task grouping so that you can track the project's progress. You can add sections like “To-do List”, “In Progress”, “On Review”, and “Done”. Only after that, you can add tasks to that section.
For example, if you want to add a task to the “To-do List” section, click the plus button at the right side of the section. Then you can name the task, assign team members, set the schedule for the task, set priority, add labels, put some description about the task, and add subtasks, checklists and attachments.
After creating a task, you can add comments, see the activities of the task, or view, upload and download the “Shared Media” from the task. The Shared Media is where you and your team members can add images, videos, links, or any attachment to support the progress of the task.
Once your task is finished, you can mark it as complete and update it.
Once your task is complete, you can move it by dragging the task to another section according to the status of the task. For example, if you create sections like the image above, so you can drag your task to the “Done” section. It signifies that your team members that the task is complete and done.
